I've seen The Unborn trailer, and the plot is so transparent that I believe I've figured out the motivation of the plot. The trailer reveals that Casey Beldon, the haunted main character is a twin who is being haunted by her unknown, unborn twin brother, who is "ready to be born." Her mother's suicide is also haunting her, and she realizing that a concentration camp is among her hallucinations.

I suspect that her mother was interred in the concentration camp where Josef Mengele did his Nazi research on twins and that the mother, knowing of his cruel intentions for research on twins, killed one of the fetuses in utero, to avoid having both twins born alive. The killed, unborn twin is haunting his living twin Casey Beldon because of this macabre murder by his own mother.

Anyway, if someone bothers to see the movie, I'd be curious to know how well I've guessed the plot. I do not intend to go see it.

You know the sad part? The movie you just described might have actually been good. At the very least it would be far better than what The Unborn turned out to be. And the plot would have been cohesive.

While all the themes you touched on are in the movie, the don't really have anything to do with each other. Furthermore, the main character isn't being haunted by anything more than your garden variety demon trying to pass into our world. The fact that the movie involves three generations of twins is really just coincidence and not really correlation…

Another Gem! Unborn looked like a piece of crap before you guys even told me that it really was indeed a piece of crap. I'm glad I saved the money!

Aren't you glad we keep reviewing movies and saving you the money? haha

As Chris said, the movie portrayed in the trailer would have been worth the watch. I had way higher expectations than what actually was shown. Too bad, I guess making good movies in this genre is a relic of the past.

I thought that the story (or at least what the trailer made the story out to be) actually had potential. Unfortunately, I was tricked. I can't really complain though, at least I used a gift card to see if for free!

Those movie guys are geniuses when they make movie trailers. It can also be misleading! I've seen some amateur examples of people throwing clips around in a well known comedy (ie: School of Rock), adding in a scary voice over and music and the trailer makes it seem like a horror movie. The same has been done with horror movies…the revised trailer makes it look like a romantic comedy!

The expectations an audience has after viewing a trailer can really make or break the movie. If the film creators don't deliver on those expectations a negative reaction is produced from the public viewing audience…such as dismal earnings.
